ABOUT NADINA

Nadina is an Egyptian & Colombian, New York City based stage and screen actor.

Born and raised in Ann Arbor, MI! She graduated with her Bachelors of Music in Music Theatre from Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, OH.

After graduation, Nadina toured the country starring as Regina George in the 1st National Tour of Tina Fey’s Mean Girls the Musical. She became the first woman of color to star in this role full time and her performance garnered critical acclaim nationwide.

Nadina recently made her Off-Broadway debut starring in the New York City premiere of We Live in Cairo at the historic New York Theatre Workshop as Layla. It made history as the first all-Arab cast of any musical in the United States.

TONIGHT ‘We Live in Cairo’ officially opens at the New York Theatre Workshop 🇪🇬. It’s not lost on me what an immense gift I have been given to get to tell this story about the Egyptian people and at this time in our history. This show has gifted me the opportunity to explore my culture through art and storytelling, through an event so recent, we can all relate to the experiences of these people. Getting to be introduced to this community that I didn’t even know was here in this industry has been one of the greatest gifts of my life, gifting me people who quickly became like family. @iamrotana @drewelhamalawy @m_karadsh @ali.louis @johneljor mean so much to me. Nothing is more special than telling stories about your culture. I could go on forever about how talented the Lazour brothers are @frereslazour. Their minds are treasure troves of compelling storytelling & music unlike any you’ve ever heard, one of the best scores in theatre. It’s been an honor to watch them work and say their words/sing their lyrics. We were gifted a dream creative team to rival all other teams @taibsm Ann Yee @literallyali @madeline.a.benson @mona_s_b_ @arigoldhelz @jeffbrancato @ktg45 @xavierbclark @salmazohdi @patriciamcgregor & many more thank you for every bit of guidance.

I hope you’ll join us to experience this show, whether you know everything or nothing about the Arab Spring. It feels so much bigger than us, it’s for all of the martyrs who gave/give their lives for the love of their home. It’s here where we get to share the joy and pride of the Arab world with you all.
